Bluefield City Park

Bluefield City Park is the host to many adventurous days for friends and family in the Bluefield community. The park has plenty of green space, a playground, splash pad, trails, train, basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts, and four shelters available to rent. The park is closed to vehicle traffic from October through March, with the exception of the Holiday of Lights.

East River Mountain Overlook

If you are visiting Bluefield for the first time, the East River Mountain Overlook is a must-see. You will be able to see both Bluefields of  Virginia and West Virginia in a beautiful and panoramic view, and there is a picture-perfect spot with an Almost Heaven wooden swing and West Virginia state decoration.​​​

Bluefield Fitness and Recreation Center

Whether you’d like to lose weight, get stronger, eat healthier, fight disease, improve your energy, or lower stress, the Bluefield Fitness and Recreation Center (FitRec) has people and programs to help. Staff at the FitRec work daily to improve the Bluefield community's health and well-being and provide a fun, supportive place to help you live better through various classes, programs, and services. The Granada Theater opened in 1928, and the building was modernized in 1949. In 2012, several Bluefield residents came together to begin the journey of restoring the building according to historic preservation guidelines. Now, the theater not only shows movies, but also host concerts and theatrical productions throughout the year. Raleigh Street Cinemas is on the lower level of the Granada. The Bluefield Ridge Runners are a member of the Appalachian League. The team plays their home games at Bowen Field, a historic stadium in Bluefield City Park. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the Ridge Runners website.

The Bluefield Arts Center located downtown, is the focal point for the arts serving Bluefield and surrounding region. The Bluefield Arts Center provides two galleries, a neoclassic performing arts center, and restaurant with a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Pinnacle Rock State Park

Burke's Garden

Known as “Vanderbilt’s First Choice” and “God’s Thumbprint,” beautiful Burke’s Garden is Virginia’s highest valley, and its largest rural historic district.  This bowl shaped valley carved out of the top of a mountain offers the most breathtaking scenery, with fertile farmland, abundant wildlife, rare bird watching, peaceful biking and adventurous hiking on the Appalachian Trail.
