
Bluefield Public Housing Authority
The Public Housing Authority Board meets according to their meeting schedule. Established by a 1962 Board of Directors Resolution, the Bluefield Public Housing Authority takes care of all issues facing public housing in the City of Bluefield. Members shall be appointed to a five-year term. Expired members will continue to serve with full authorities until reappointed or replaced.

City Tree Board
The City Tree Board meets the first Wednesday bi-monthly at 5:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building, as business warrants. Established by the City Code of Ordinances Chapter 14, the Tree Board’s purpose is to study, investigate, council, and develop/update an annual plan for the care, preservation, planting, and removal of trees and shrubs in parks, along streets, and in other public areas as set forth in the Code of Ordinances. Members shall be appointed to a one-year term except ex-officio members. Expired members will continue to serve with full authorities until reappointed or replaced.

Library Board

The Library Board of Directors meets according to their bylaws at Craft Memorial Library on 600 Commerce Street Bluefield, WV 24701. Established by the City Code of Ordinances Chapter 26, the Library Board’s purpose is to fulfill the West Virginia Code Chapter 10, Article 1, and as set forth in the Code of Ordinances. Members shall be appointed to a five-year term. Expired members will continue to serve with full authorities until reappointed or replaced. Visit the Craft Memorial Library website.

Police Citizen's Review Board

The Police Citizen’s Review Board meets every three months for the purpose of reviewing police inquires or complaints. Expired members will continue to serve with full authorities until reappointed or replaced.

Sanitary Board
The board meets the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Municipal Building of Bluefield, Virginia Town Hall. Established by the City Code of Ordinances Chapter 42, the Bluefield Sanitary Board’s purpose is to administer, operate, and maintain the sewerage works and control system as set forth in the Code of Ordinances. Members shall be appointed to a term of three years and comprised of the following: two residents of the City of Bluefield, two residents of the Town of Bluefield, and the mayor or city manager of Bluefield, West Virginia will serve as the chair. This board is an independent agency of the city.

Zoning Board of Adjustments
The Zoning Board of Adjustments meets the third Thursday of each month at 4:30 p.m., as business warrants, in the Municipal Building. Established by the City Code of Ordinances Chapter 44, the Zoning Board’s purpose is to enforce the city’s zoning codes as set forth in the Code of Ordinances. Members shall be appointed to a term of three years by the City Board of Directors. Expired members will continue to serve with full authorities until reappointed or replaced.

Land Bank Board
The Bluefield Land Bank works to revitalize neighborhoods by putting vacant, abandoned, and tax-delinquent properties back into use. Through strategic acquisition, maintenance, and sale of parcels, the Land Bank supports community goals such as affordable housing, public green space, and economic development.
An interactive online map is available for viewing properties currently owned by the Land Bank.
The Land Bank is guided by a seven-member Board of Directors committed to transparency, equitable redevelopment, and long-term community benefit. The commission meets in the City Hall Board Room once every quarter, or when needed.
